Volunteer Spotlight: Hoa
In the time that Hoa, an 18 year old student at Raoul Wallenberg High School, worked with Compass Family Services, Hoa demonstrated an eagerness to learn, work, participate and dedicate his summer to help a monolingual Vietnamese speaking family.
Hoa was a huge help by ensuring he voiced the needs, requests, concerns and the questions of the family during their monthly meetings with their case manager.
This continued dialogue and support helped the family stay on the right track to fulfill their housing program goals and eventually reach a long term goal of successfully transitioning into a stable housing solution.
Hoa was dependable and dedicated in his work with the family he translated for during his time at Compass. By breaking the language barrier for Compass staff and this family, he saved many hours of staff time which meant he was helping many more families as well.
Thank you, Hoa, for your good work and thoughtful donation of your summer to help others in your community!
