Back to School for Compass Kids!

Compass Family Services partnered with My New Red Shoes, San Francisco United School District, and Giving Tree to provide new shoes, school uniforms, and backpacks filled with supplies to students in Compass programs for their first day of school.

This give-away event was the first time many Compass families got to meet with us in our new space at 37 Grove Street. The dedicated team from My New Red Shoes, along with Compass staff and volunteers from Gliffy and Bank of America, helped every family and young student find just the right pair of footwear just in time for the first day of school!

Besides a new pair of kicks, each student received a $50 gift card from Old Navy.

Free school uniforms were provided by the SFUSD and their program, Students and Families Experiencing Homelessness, with the event hosted by Twitter NeighborNest. Family Giving Tree provided backpacks again this year.

Compass families and staff are all extremely grateful for the generosity of these organizations and the many individual, foundation, and corporate donors that make these important, back to school events possible.
