Congratulations to the 18 graduates of Compass Children's Center

It was all smiles for Compass preschoolers, families, staff, and volunteers as the 2019 graduating class was celebrated at the annual Moving On ceremony hosted by Zendesk.

The ceremony included a song by the students and we learned what each student wants to be when they grow up, which includes Spider Man, astronaut, teacher, and police officer.

Students and their families enjoyed dinner and cake provided by Zendesk and served by volunteers from BlackRock and HAN Skincare Cosmetics.

Graduating students will be moving on to public elementary schools later this month. Their time at Compass Children's Center has given them the support and resources necessary to catch up with their peers and ensure they are not behind when they head to the classroom. Most of them have been with Compass since they were infants.

Compass provides a specialized early enriched childhood curriculum; focused on art, music, science, and nature. It also includes pre-reading, pre-math, and gross motor play. Students receive two nutritious meals each day and healthy snacks.

Compass also provides support to parents as part of the holistic approach Compass takes to family homelessness. Having high quality childcare means the parents are able to go to work full time, go to school, or pursue job training.
