Chris has more than 35 years of finance industry experience. He previously held positions at Credit Suisse, Lehman Brothers, JPMorgan Chase and Hambrecht & Quist. Chris has served on the Business Development Council, College of Business at San Francisco State University since 2008. He has also volunteered with American Corporate Partners as a mentor to military veterans transitioning to the corporate sector and has served as a member of the Pacific Stock Exchange Ethics & Business Conduct Committee. As a San Francisco native, Chris views his role on the Compass board as a meaningful way to improve the lives of homeless families and build a stronger, more supportive community.

After a career in advertising account management, Alison is a small business owner and book group moderator with Literary Masters, which organizes, curates and moderates book groups for parents, children and adults. She is also a founding board member of Taking Out Toxo, a nonprofit devoted to finding a cure for toxoplasmosis, as well as an owner of Petrali Wines, a small winery which donates 100% of its proceeds to Taking Out Toxo. Before joining the Compass board, Alison co-chaired Compass’ Centennial Celebration and Campaign. She strongly believes that Compass’ approach of housing plus deep support services will allow her adopted hometown of San Francisco to reduce and eventually eliminate family homelessness.

Bob is a Founding Partner of DZH Phillips, with extensive experience in audits, reviews, compilations and tax planning, strategic planning, and succession planning. His expertise also includes management consulting and advisory assistance, involving forecasting, budgeting, business planning, and financing. Bob currently serves as the treasurer at Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture, and is a past treasurer of the Educational Foundation of Orinda. Bob joined the Compass board to help provide lasting solutions for homeless San Francisco families.

With over 20 years of commercial banking experience, Doug began as a financial analyst, and then assumed roles in product management for deposits and cash management services. Eventually, he was responsible for marketing to commercial clients with over $2B in assets. Doug also has been an entrepreneur, co-founding two successful businesses. Doug serves on the board because he believes that every child deserves a safe and stable home.

Jeff runs the incubator at Envestnet | Yodlee, helping fintech startups grow. When not at work he mostly chases his two young sons around the house. Jeff serves on the Compass board to help support an organization that transforms lives.

Chad is the Chief Information Officer of Sequoia. He also serves on the Community Committee at Hamlin School. Chad became a Compass supporter over ten years ago when he and his wife discovered the inspiring work of Compass Children’s Center where they witnessed the children of Compass clients getting the same type of quality early childhood education that their own daughter was getting. Chad joined the Compass board in hopes of getting better at understanding and working against structures that perpetuate inequality.
Communications, Fundraising, and Marketing Consultant

Nancy is a communications and fund-raising consultant to nonprofits in the Bay Area. Previously, for nearly two decades, Nancy was the Founder and CEO of Weaver, Field & London, a corporate communications consultancy that served clients in a broad range of industries. Earlier in her career, Nancy was a Vice President of the First Boston Corporation in New York. Nancy has served on the boards of a number of nonprofits, including United Cerebral Palsy, Town School for Boys and the Glenbrook Club. Nancy serves on the Compass board because she shares Compass’ conviction that every child deserves a stable home.

Dennis had a career as a corporate and banking law attorney. Now retired, he spent most of his career at Wells Fargo Bank, where he was Senior Vice President and Assistant Chief Counsel until 1998. Prior to joining the Compass board of directors in 2010, he served on the board of another homeless services agency, Central City Hospitality House. He believes that service on the Compass board of directors supports an organization that transforms the lives of its clients every day.

Meghan is an Executive Producer for the San Francisco based production company Liars & Thieves. She is a seasoned entertainment executive with 15+ years of experience that includes roles as Executive Director, Creative Affairs for Viacom and Disney. Meghan has also produced and managed a number of successful nonprofit marketing campaigns and events for independent schools in San Francisco. Meghan believes that Compass’ individualized services and multi-tiered approach are paramount to finding solutions for families facing homelessness in SF.

Mike is an innovative and results-driven Community Broadband Engineer with 15+ years of community-based IT experience, including designing and directing city-wide fiber and Wi-Fi initiatives. Mike currently manages a community-based ISP that provides internet access to over 8,000 users every day in San Francisco. Mike was also part of the Compass staff for 12 years, helping start Compass’ homeless family program back in the early 1990s. He stays involved with Compass because he knows firsthand the tremendous long-term benefits families receive from being part of the Compass family.

Brian is the Founder of the McInerney Group, providing C-level project leadership for organizations and projects. His previous incarnations include CEO of the Jimmy Doolittle Center Education Foundation, Executive Director of the San Francisco Boys’ Chorus, Director of Operations for the Mayor’s Office, Captain in the US Merchant Marine and Commander, US Navy (retired). As a native San Franciscan, Brian understands we are all part of one interwoven community and together we must address its needs - Compass is a critical part of improving the social fabric, and thus the lives, of all of us here in San Francisco.

Krista is Founder and EVP of Culture and Corporate Citizenship at POPSUGAR, which is a global media and technology company. Krista joined the Compass board in 2017. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Town School for Boys and sits on the SFGives Kitchen Cabinet. Krista was introduced to Compass through her involvement with Tipping Point/SFGives and decided to join the board after seeing firsthand the great impact of Compass’ work while volunteering at Compass Family Shelter.

Tim Moffet is currently employed by JPMorgan Chase and has more than 10 years of financial services industry experience. Prior to JP Morgan Chase, Tim spent 5 years in corporate strategy positions in the technology and retail/consumer products sectors. He is currently on the alumni fundraising committee for University High School. As a San Francisco native, Tim is passionate about his work with Compass and the impact the organization has on the San Francisco homeless community.

Lisa is principal in Lisa Odyniec Design, specializing in Residential and Interior Architecture. Previously, she worked at Polshek Partnership (now Ennead) in New York and SOM in San Francisco, as well as other boutique architectural and design firms. Lisa serves on the Compass board in order to actively engage in helping families in need in the context of a results driven organization.

Anne worked for many years in adventure travel marketing with Backroads. While raising two daughters, she returned to the University of San Francisco for an MBA, and actively volunteered for 10 years with events and fundraising at Katherine Delmar Burke School. Anne is active on the Trails Forever committee to raise funds for the trails and programs in the Golden Gate National Parks. Since joining the board, Anne has chaired the Spring Benefit, Centennial Campaign and Annual Fund. Anne serves on the Compass board because she wants all children to have a place to call home.

Laurel is a Program Associate with Hirsch & Associates, Philanthropic Advisors where she provides in-depth issue research and analysis, strategic planning, and program management to help individuals, families and foundations maximize the impact of their philanthropy. Previously, Laurel worked as Program Coordinator for International Specialized Programs at the University of Washington, managing in-bound study abroad programs for international students. Laurel is proud to serve as the Leadership Council representative on Compass' Board of Directors, and is motivated by the organization's commitment to providing comprehensive and personalized support to homeless families.

Ros is a health care professional with passion for the community. She currently serves as a Foundation Liaison for Zouves Foundation for Reproductive Medicine. As a board member, Ros has personally seen what Compass Family Services is capable of providing to its client families. Growing up she was taught to always keep a promise and Compass keeps its promise to hold families together!
Spring Benefit Committee Chair

Katie is a community volunteer who, as Co-Chair of Compass Family Services’ Spring Benefit for the past several years, has helped conceptualize, coordinate, and implement the multifaceted and largest fundraising event for Compass. She also has served as Co-Chair of Marin Country Day School’s Live Auction, and created, solicited, and delivered various highly desirable auction items/experiences for the school’s fundraiser. Previously, Katie was a Sports Marketing Account Manager, initiating, coordinating and running special events for various clients including NBA, Nike, and Gillette. Katie joined the Compass board because she was seeing so many families in need. She continues to serve because she believes that the support and services that Compass provides truly make a difference in the lives of homeless and at-risk families.
